Grocery List For Our Seva

Lets talk about Food for the Seva. Previously I suggested Vegetarian or Vegan and I still do. If you do eat meat, and can not forgo it for 30 days, try your hardest to buy Local, Organic meat for this 30 days.

I wanted to compile a grocery list or suggestions for food. Here is a sample of what we will be purchasing:

  • Frozen and Fresh Fruits for our Morning Shakes
  • Almond Milk
  • Limes and Lemons for Evening Liver Detox Drink
  • Brown Rice
  • Root Vegetables ( Potato, sweet potato, beets, turnips, carrots)
  • Squashes
  • Bulk Turmeric
  • Cinnamon, Cayenne, cumin, ginger, Curry
  • TEA
  • Hemp Oil
  • Purified Water / Spring Water ( DO NOT DRINK TAP WATER )
  • Onions, Chives, Garlic, Mushrooms, Celery, CILANTRO
  • Yogurt
  • Eggs ( Fresh and Local )
  • Fish
Also, I suggest looking up Indian and Middle eastern Recipes to add variety to your diets and taste buds for this Seva.  I have a Friend that does a food Blog and all of her dishes can be made Vegetarian Check it out  HERE. Most of the foods you love can be converted to vegetarian foods as well. Use that Google and find em!

Most important, no matter what you are able to get for this Seva, is that you INTENTIONALLY eat, and bless your food. Turn off the TV and the laptop and the i phone and make eating a conscious act.

Here's a recipe for Ratatouille :

Cut all of that up and roast it in the oven with Olive oil. Dash turmeric, cayenne, and any spices you love. Avoid salt, but if you must, use Himalayan or Celtic salt.
